I saw a framed print recently. It was very similar to those inspirational prints you see in so many offices - with the beautiful photography and the motivational message below the picture. It had a picture of a majestic landscape and I was ready for the boost of motivation the words below would give me. I was caught off guard. The text said, "Attitude is contagious. Mine is likely to kill you." Whoa. The print had been designed to reel you in and then sucker-punch you with negativity.
Yet, that is so true, isn't it? Attitude IS contagious. There is nothing that will kill your momentum, your prospects and your ability to influence people quicker than a consistently negative attitude. It may surprise you to discover that successful people don't always wake up with a positive attitude. It is a choice that has to be made every day. Make the choice often enough and it becomes discipline - then discipline becomes habit. A positive attitude is the single most important factor in your success. Take the first step in the march toward that beneficial habit. Make a choice to step into a positive attitude every morning. What a great way to start 2010!
